  • A visa application centre of the destination country
  • The embassy/consulate of another Schengen country

According to Schengen rules, the destination country means where you are required to lodge your visa application.

You should find the most suitable time to file your visa application.

Schengen embassies/consulates worldwide take due time to process your visa application.

  • 6 months is the earliest you can file a visa application before your planned trip.
  • 15 working days before the planned trip is the latest you can file a visa application.
  • It is recommended that you file the Schengen Visa application at least 3 weeks before the trip.
Booking an appointment at the embassy or consulate is the next logical step. Many Schengen countries give you a chance to book an appointment online. In some cases you may have to book an interview appointment in person at the concerned embassy or consulate.

Show up on time at the facility on the day of your interview. Meet the visa consular to hand over the documents. There would be several questions asked during the interview. Make sure to answer them firmly and correctly. A typical interview lasts for about 10 – 15 minutes.
The fee that you are required to pay along with your visa application is non-refundable. Member countries of the Schengen agreement have synchronized and the fee is static and unchangeable
